It's 1 Pound = RM5.00 and -5 degree today..

Just came back from London few days ago. Wanted to blog about my trip to London but I was so lazy to blog.

Was looking at my desktop..

Look at the Windows Sidebar. It shows it's -5 degree today. This is the first time it's so cold in Birmingham since I arrived at the home of Aston Villa. No wonder I was gasping for air like a cow while walking to the train station from my house.

And, another thing, I am not sure it's a good news or not.. It's 1 Pound = RM5.00. The exchange rate is dropping everyday. I think it might drop to RM4.50 or lower. Let's hope so. I was wondering the exchange rate getting lower and lower is a good thing or not because lower exchange rate makes me spend MORE.. argh.. stress sikit..

Haigh... These few days didn't go anywhere. Stay at home most of the time. Watched a 40-episode drama in just 2 days time. Imagine that, how wu liao am I..

Went to play tennis with Kenn Shaun yesterday. Play for 3 hours straight from 10am to 1pm. This is the longest time I play tennis since.. erm.. 3 years ago. Whole body ache today. Like an old man. Stress sikit.

Who say police can't drive supercars?

If you see a police in Malaysia drive a good car, fast car or luxury car, you'll say the police earned that from bribery. This is because there is not possible for them to own such expensive car, for instance, Mitsubishi Evo X, which cost about RM300,000. Their salary simply not enough for them to buy one, unless they have grass and air as their food..

So, many people in Malaysia doesn't one to be a police. It's not that they are not patriotic or love their country, it's the income for a GOOD police can only get them a semi-D and a national car.

But now, I think there will be more people applying to police academy. It's simply a police now can drive a Mitsubishi Evo chasing criminals.

MRSM Beseri

I was in MRSM Beseri in Perlis from 2004 to 2005 for my SPM. Had great time over there. It's where I learned how to play tennis, where I learned how to study with friends without going tuition, where I met true friends, where I met really genius guys, where I met someone who's once important to me..

I found this video in youtube posted by a junior (I have totally no idea who she is as she's two years younger than me). I lived in the condition like that last time.

I miss that place...

Stepper Motor

It's a super duper nice and neat circuit, isn't it?

Were working on this stepper motor thingy for like 3 weeks ago. I have no idea how many brain cells I have sacrificed (though I didn't do all the work). haigh..

I think this is the best circuit I've made since I started my E&E Engineering course. I have never been so concentrate on my electrical works before. I was satisfied, ahhhhmm..

Let's see some good stuff..

New Street at Night

Went to New Street last Wednesday with Maverick and Ei-vonne, after class. Eivonne said the German Market in New Street is very happening and worth have a look.

Dim Sum and Shopping

Went to China Town for Dim Sum with this 'bunch' of friends yesterday.. lol.. All of us did not have Dim Sum for such long time already(though I just had it one month ago in London). Since when we arrive in Birmingham in September.

There were 12 of us and we split into 2 tables. I have no idea why they split to 8 and 4 instead of 6 and 6. Anyway, I was in the table of 8. The 8 of us are that kind that don't really care of the price of food when it comes to 'long lost' food, dim sum, for instance. There were 8 of us and we ordered like for 10 or 12. We were hungry but not that hungry till need to eat so much. It's just that we want to try every of them.

Ok, the food came. Egg tart, chee cheug fun, ha kau, siew mai and bla bla bla. There were some food that came to us but in fact we didn't order for those. We don't care!!! Just put it in the month, bite and swallow!!

We were waiting for some that we ordered but didn't come. 'Excuse me, we would like to check if the xxxx is ready?' one of us asked the waitress(of course not that polite la, food not coming). 'There, the one on the table is xxxx' replied the waitress.

'HAR!!!!' all of us shocked. We didn't know that's xxxx, it looked different from what I've had in London and Malaysia. We were like 'zha dou'.. Now only we realise that the dim sum in Birmingham China Town is different from other places. SPECIAL!!!

Later on went Bullring for shopping. I thought for buying myself a scarf. ' hmm.. I think I am getting one from M&S' I told myself. While walking around New Street, I saw a lot people carrying 'next' shopping bag. ''next' must be having sales or something'. I keep telling myself not to buy an expensive one. 'agak-agak' can use is good enough.

But, I end up with..

that costs me 13 Pounds. Damn..

ahhhhhhhhmmmm..

Have you ever watched a tv commercial about cough syrup?? That's what the actors and actresses feel when they heal immediately after they drink the syrup.. ahhhhhhmmmm...

That's what I am feeling now. It's not that I've just healed from cough, not after I am satisfied 'doing' with my gf (if I have one now)..

It's I've just handed in my two months long coursework, which I rushed to finish it in, erm, one week?

That explains why I did not update my blog for one week..

Exchange Placement Interview

Remember I blogged about my international exchange programme thing?

I got an email saying that I am going to an interview for that. For a kampung boy that speaks broken English, interview can be a difficult thing for me.

It's next Wednesday and how am I going to prepare for it?

'Ship will go straight when it reaches the jetty'. A Chinese proverb says. LOL..

Think before talk

Last time, and still going on nowadays, I talk without going through my brain.

There was once during my primary, I can't remember what event was that, I was arguing with a girl (lol..not gentlemen.. who cares..), then I came out with something very harsh. I won the fight but she ended up with 'why don't you think before you talk?'

Few months ago when I was working in the summer, I was in a meeting. The main contractor asked when can I proceed with next coming task. Without thinking deeply, I answered ' ok, we'll do it when we are free'. Sounds right but it actually wrong. I wasn't aware of that. It should be 'ok, I'll do it as soon as possible' although you know that you won't make it to the deadline.

That's not the only two incident that involve talking without going through my brain. There are still a lot real life example.

There will be another post talking about this again next time as this kind of things always happen on me.

Trip to London- 1st part

Went to London to visit relative over the last weekend. A boy from kampung travel alone from Birmingham to City of London. Bought his own Oyster card. Travelled by bus underground and buses. Sesat a bit. LOL.

Have a look on the first half of the journey.

Ah Kin Ko.. (brother Atkins)

Finally done my EE2A lab. It took me and the group 3 labs to get it done. Preparation work is super important here. If no preparation work, then you hailat la. Luckily, Eivonne did most of the preparation work. Me and Maverick are like kelefe(cantonese: sub-actors).

See how messy is our design. haigh. stress sikit. Hope that we'll improve more in our next experiment.

Noob, Bodoh, Sohai

Came back from uni just now with Maverick. There was a car driven at high speed over a bumper. This noob, bodoh, sohai driver didn't even step on his brake pedal to slow down. Instead, he just drove over the bumper at speed.

Actually this is quite common and happens everywhere but what I want to point out is the spare tyre of the car came off from where it should be. Usually, the spare tyre is designed in such a way that it is placed in the boot. But for this particular low-cost-design car, the spare tyre is placed underneath the boot and tighten with bolts.

That noob, bodoh, sohai driver realised that there's something wrong with the car and then stopped after 20 metres. He came out of the car look back to his spare tyre and later on got back into his car. He drove away WITHOUT his spare tyre.

WTF.. This guy is just a noob, bodoh and sohai..

My secondary schooldays..

Was quite busy for the past few days..

After finishing my first year of my degree, I am working for my uncle now. As an 'engineer'. Actually I just spending my holiday by working for my uncle but what I am doing everyday is basically what his staff is doing. Just that there's a lot of things that I don't understand. *what do you expect from a first year degree student??* LOL...

Met my ex-classmate from secondary school. We have not met each others for ages. So, we had some nice chat and some good food in Mid Valley. I am so friend with this guy is because we share same interests. *I think most people become good friends also because they share same interest* We actually love to play sports and food.. haha...

Still fresh in my memory, during weekends, we play as many games as we could. Since we were in boarding school and there are so many fields and courts for different sports and games. So, we play basketball; after a while, we moved to volleyball, then tennis.. Like this, from courts to courts, fields to fields; we played a few games in just one morning until lunch time. We stopped for the afternoon, maybe do some laundry or become pig (I mean sleep.. haha..) Then around 5pm, we were back to action. Repeat what we did in the morning until we cant see the ball, if we play basketball.

At nights, we study together, though some times we talked more than write and read but we still have books in our hands. Just that we were still looking at the same page after 2 hours.. haha.. I think most people had the same experience when they were in secondary school or college. There's a phrase in chinese - 'saliva more than tea'. Anyway, it's a great experience, isn't it?

Really miss those days.. Will be writing more about it next time..

Okok weekend..

Went out with ex last Saturday night.. Planned to go to 'Kei Tak Sek' in KL for dinner, with friends. Before that, we went to Sungei Wang for some window shopping. I saw someone looked like whom I've seen before somewhere, sometime ago. Then I started to think... Who was that??? Oh, ya.. It's Nicole. But I wasn't too sure it's Nicole or not as I did not meet Nicole in real before. So, I didn't go near her. When I got back home, I emailed her to ask for confirmation. Such a stupid things to do right?? haha.. And surprisingly she replied me and said that it was her as she was in Sungei Wang at that time also.. You know that kind of feeling?? the feeling when a fan met a superstar?? LOL..

Going to study abroad soon.. erm.. not really that soon.. still few months to go before I leave Malaysia. Called up a secondary classmate to go to Mid Valley to have a look on winter clothes. Spotted one in Universal Traveller. It's a leather jacket.. Black in colour.. Quite nice. But when it comes to price, it costs RM899.. wtf.. I cant afford that. That's too expensive for me. Didn't spend much time in Universal Traveller as there wasn't much discount available at the moment. Went into Timberland later, saw this brown jacket.. It's not going to be too obvious if I accidentally splash some thing on it. I am not sure it's leather or not. And it's RM599.. hmm... What do you think??
